a Grand Day Out

well Gromit & Shaun were there, even if Wallace wasn't!

I went to the Creative Stitches today at the SECC Glasgow and saw the Great British Pic-knit, which stars Shaun & Gromit and tons of knitted food! It was lovely, lots of beautiful detail.

The Poetry in Stitches exhibition was beautiful too, some stunning work there.

There was also some interesting art on the theme of recycling, which was fascinating to see and also thought provoking.

On the train there I cast on a swatch to make another pair of socks, Twist by Jane Burns, from Let's knit magazine (Feb 08).

Of course the shopping was the main event and I bought some beautiful yarn from Jamie Possum which is unbelievably soft, some bargain wool from New Lanark Mill, a huge crochet hook from Rachel John, and some reduced price Debbie Bliss Soho. All in all, a very good day. I didn't quite save the UK economy, but I tried.
