This has been a fantastic summer for sport: the Tour de France was amazing, the Olympic Games were fantastic, the Paralympic Games were awesome and then to top it all off doesn't Andy Murray go and win the US open at Flushing Meadows?? It took him 5 sets and nearly 5 hours to beat Djokovic but by golly it was worth it! He's the first British man to win a major title for 76 years. (The last British woman was Virginia Wade winning Wimbledon in 1977, 35 years ago.)
The only downside is that football has become much less enthralling for me. I keep up with it but I'm getting irritated with the overpaid prima donna players, the moaning managers and the cynical fouls and play acting to win penalties.

We caught up with the Tour of Britain this week. Stage 3 set off from Jedburgh yesterday. We were there and stood within 10' of Wiggins and Cavendish. Borders Council were one of the sponsors and did a lot of work with the local schools and got all of the children involved.

Some of the children were chosen to ride out from the start a minute or so before the official rollout. It was tremendous to see the start. One day we'll see the finish of a stage and that will be massively exciting!
I've managed to finish my Lilybet socks uring LaVuelta de Espana ( the Spanish cycle race) even if they were supposed to be finished during the Tour de France! I'm very pleased with them, they're cosy and a very pretty colour. The pattern was well written too.
