1. I don't usually follow Awards ceremonies, as usually the winners of the BAFTAs / Globes/Oscars etc are not the programmes/films that I enjoy.
But this year one of my fave shows came up trumps.
The IT Crowd is very funny and appeals to me, my 16yo son and my hard-to-please husband (he denies this, he says he is discerning). It has won the BAFTA for best sitcom, and quite right too, it is well written (Graham Linehan- who wrote Father Ted) and well acted (Richard Ayoade, Chris O'Dowd and Katherine Parkinson.). I cry with laughter, even when watching the repeats, and I'm delighted to see it and the crew get recognition.
2. The aforementioned 16 yo son passed his grade 4 violin exam today (woohoo!). When he puts his mind to it he is quite a musician, although he can barely be bothered to practise his scales. He's also up for an award at school this week, though I've no idea what it's for. He thinks it might be for community involvement (he does a lot of voluntary work for the local Social Inclusion project -SIP), but he's so laid back about it, that he may have been told, but has forgotten.....sigh
3. I've won award from Scattie at InmyHead.
How lovely to be acclaimed as lovely! (well I can't write comedy shows or play any musical instrument, so I was never going to do well at the BAFTAS or at the RSM!)

I will not make a grand speech (à la Gwyneth Paltrow) but it is very touching, and I feel quite chuffed.

Little Wilds has a charming blog. I'm always impressed by people who are multilingual and she is a talented crafter too, and I love to get a glimpse of life in South Africa.
Knit 1-Football 0 always makes me a laugh. She is a very talented cook and has a happy positive attitude to life, even with the MM.
Bloggingintheslowlane is written by a feisty knitter/biker whose love of leather and tattoos is fascinating.
Iam the Sport's widow is always colourful and lively and I admire Sheila's zest for life.
DeepSeaknitting is inspiring, there is always beautiful work to admire.
Knitting stopsmeunravelling iswarm & funny, Rowena has a great sense of humour and produces fantastic work too.
mindingmyownstitches is like having a mug of coffee with an old friend, heartwarming, honest and encouraging.
so congratulations to these worthy recipients and it will be interesting to see who they pass the award to!
