I'm making good progress with Jennifer's green sweater, Candy. The rib is 30cm deep then it switches to stocking stitch before the arm and neck shaping. The yarn is a soft silky acrylic which I'm sure she'll enjoy.I've been listening to " Good Omens " by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman which I've not read yet. very enjoyable, and interesting take on free will and determinism, prophecy and the Book of Revelations.
I want to get the front done before she goes to P7 camp on sunday. If she gets any more excited about this trip she'll pop! and all that knitting will be wasted....
Some knitting time was lost because I was
engrossed in "The Naming of the Dead" by Ian Rankin. This Rebus investigation is set in Edinburgh during the G8 conference in 1985 when there was the "Make Poverty History" march, the riot police on Princes St, and the camp at Niddrie. It was a riveting book, but I wonder, 3 years later, how much Bono & Geldof acheived. Still, they were right to try, right to speak out.
