knit & natter #2

I went off to Port Seton again tonight to meet up with the lively ladies and to crack on with the knitting for the Burundi orphanage.

There's a lot of giggling with the ladies and chat about holidays too- A is heading to Lake Garda later this year, a holiday which was postponed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, but now she's fit and raring to go and looking forward to the sun. To look at her, you wouldn't know she had gone through such a harrowing time, she looks great and she will look even better after her jaunt.

I admire the ladies' upbeat attitudes, many are in their 70's or 80's and have had tough times in their lives but they are so positive about life and live it to the full.

My blankie is coming along nicely, it's going to be very simple strips of squares with a decorative edging and I'm enjoying knitting it in Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino. It's a very easy knit which gives me a break from concentrating on Crazy Waves.
