He's going to love the HDTV! They have much better contrast than the old models which makes it much easier to read news headlines and see the weather charts.
My Mom got one from all us "kids" for her 74th. It was a big success. And she particularly enjoyed the BBC Blue Planet DVDs on her HDTV!
