awesome!

I don't use the word awesome often, as most things don't leave me in awe- I might be pleased, delighted, charmed by something, but rarely in awe.

Tonight I saw/heard a wonderful man, Jacques *, from Burundi playing his traditional drum at  a concert organised by the teenagers heading off to Kenya with Mission International in 2 weeks time.

It was awesome, he danced and played his drum while his drum was balanced on his head- it was fabulous, wonderful and truly awesome. What a wonderful man to share his talent with our kids and help them to raise £650 on the night.

They've all raised their own travel/accommodation costs (£1400 each) and all the rest that they raise is going to  the project- installing a water tank in a remote part of the Maasai territory, so that the villagers will have easy access to clean water.

Jack acted as MC, bantered with the audience  and played guitar/sang in the show and Jen helped to paint the elephants and the tree for the backdrop.

It was a great night and I'm proud of my kids - and in awe of the amazing Jacques

* still trying to track down his surname!
