came back from London yesterday, managed to knit for about 4 hours and nearly finished the second sock, just the toe to shape, so finished that today.
Somehow I managed to make the socks not match on the foot, although they match on the leg! bizarre, but maybe they are reflecting the England team's campaign- it didn't quite work out as people hoped!
Anyhoo, some snug warm socks for my feet in the winter, and they will remind me of the wonderful South African world cup.
The train was quite full and the passenger next to me was fascinated by seeing me knitting socks- she herself was a knitter but hadn't made anything for years. She liked the feel of the regia wool and thought she might head off to John Lewis to get some to knit some socks for her hubby. Result!!
Collected the pooch from the kennels today, she looks fit and healthy, had a good sniff round the house and garden then fell asleep- we're just not as exciting as 29 other dogs!!
Cast on some more socks - Angee by Cookie A in regia flower cotton, and I need to finish MAY's swap too. I started the potholders a while ago, but the blankie took precedence over everything.... still, I'm not charging around enjoying myself, so more time to knit!
