Double Dutch

an exciting match for Dutch fans and neutrals last night. Holland beat France 4-1, dominated the game for 70 mins and made France look average.

Thierry Henry pulled back a goal at 2-0 down but then sank to his knees in disbelief when Holland got another goal a minute later.

The Dutch team looked organised and had massive self belief, and then went up a gear when Robben and van Persie came on in the second half. They were so fast that they left the French standing.

Last week they beat Italy 3-0 ( the World Cup holders), yesterday they beat France ( World Cup runners up). These boys are on fire! I'm so glad that England weren't playing against them, we would have been marmalised! (pun intended!). Marco van Basten is doing a great job, considering that its not so long ago that the Dutch team was riven with internal fighting and backbiting.

Croatia are looking organised and confident, Spain have a lot of vim and vigour, Portugal look classy ( that would be young Mr Ronaldo then). The competition has now grabbed my interest and is good to knit to!

I managed to get 5cm done on the shoulders of Mimi last night. It feels like such a slog with so many stitches on the needles ( 2 sleeves and the back), so I will be pleased when the sleeves are cast off and there is only the back to do. I've started taking glucosamine to protect my bones!!
