D took me for an early birthday lunch today sans enfants to Valvona & Crolla's Vin Caffe, which is a lovely Italian bistro, great food, warm friendly atmosphere, and a chance to have an uninterrupted conversation.Yes, we did talk about our kids, but it was nice to have him to myself for a few hours.
Afterwards, he took me shopping to Jenners to buy me some Sheila Fleet jewelry. Normally he chooses it himself, and he has picked some lovely stuff over the years, but he does need me there to try on rings!
So, a lovely romantic day in the howling gale and rain in Edinburgh, though we barely noticed the weather!
