19

It's our 19th wedding anniversary today and as D has to attend a Council meeting till about 8pm tonight he took me out for lunch to celebrate.

We went to the Barns Ness hotel in Dunbar, sat on the terrace in the brilliant sunshine before tucking into sea bream (me) and steak pie (him). It was pub food but with a nice modern twist to it (my veg were oven roasted with shreds of black olives mixed in and D's mash was laced with chopped herbs) and freshly cooked too. Yummy!

We love each so much that we've decided to have another 19 years together!

Other anniversaries celebrated today are Frank & Anita Milford of Devon (both 101) who are celebrating their 81st anniversary. That is amazing. Congratulations to them both!!

I'm making good progress on the Monkey sock, I did 4 pattern repeats on the leg, the heel has been turned and now I'm shaping the instep. I'm really pleased with how it is turning out.

The bean seedlings are being hardened off outside in my mini greenhouse/cold frame before they get planted into my giant plant pots. As soon as I get some more windowsill space I shall plant some more seeds.

I've started some lettuce and I want to get more flowers started too. I really need a greenhouse, but that's not going to happen till I've tidied up the space earmarked for it. I'm feeling too stuffed full of food mellow & content at the moment so that might have to wait until this evening.
