The men's gold went to Heinrich Romeike who works full time as a dentist and has only one top quality horse. Wow! Every amateur rider in the world must take heart from that, and I bet the crowd at Whiteloch stables are going bonkers!
I love the joy that winning brings: this is Benjamin Boukpeti making history as he takes Togo's first ever Olympic medal with bronze in the men's kayak single. Isn't that wonderful? Over the decades GB has amassed over 700 medals, and this is the first for Togo. I hope that there are many more.
Phelps is continuing to dominate the swimming: he is amazing to watch. The Chinese gymnasts, male and female are glorious, they can make their bodies do so much.
