we wuz robbed!

the 130th Tyne - Wear derby ended 1-1 which is good for domestic harmony, but honestly "ref ref that was never a penalty!" .

A win would have taken us into the top half of the table, but could have plunged the Toon into the drop zone, and as they are losing two of their best players ( Shay Given and Charles N'Zogbia) and two others are injured ( Michael Owen and Joey Barton) things are looking bleak enough for the Toon army without losing again to their bitter rivals.

So we are 13th with 27 points and the Toon are 15th with 24. The bottom half of the table is still not clear cut, with Hull at 11th with 28, and West Brom at 20th with 22. The Black Cats are only 4 points above a relegation place. Oh, to achieve mid table mediocrity! I hope we can thump Stoke next week ! This might not be as easy as it sounds as they beat Man City (the richest club in the world ) 1-0 yesterday with only 10 men.

The top of the table is still pretty tight too, Liverpool have just beaten Chelski 2-0 and go second to Man U, who lead by the table by 2 points and have a game in hand.

14 games left to play and still nothing is clearcut for anybody!
