Product or process?

I was listening to Its a Purlman, with Guido Stein and smiling at Stephen Hizknits' 12 step plan for those with cast on addictions.

I'm definitely in the product knitter camp (rather than process knitter)- I like to get stuff finished so I can wear the item(s) or give it away on time.

But the same is not true of my garden- this will always be my wip. It will never be totally finished, there will always be a new plant that I must have, a new feature that I want to install, a new technique that I want to try and there will always be semi-finished projects basking in the sun/shivering in the rain.

For some people their garden gets "done" and thereafter it's just maintenance, but I take after my Mam, I like to try stuff, and my garden will never be finished. To be honest the thought of finishing fills me with dread! (not sure D shares that feeling though!).

I think my ad yesterday may have been spotted as I did see a bumblebee inspecting my garden, but I fear that the bijou house is too bijou for the bumbler. I may have to put in a bigger house for some bumblebees!

While I was clearing up leaves, weeding, etc I was listening to EscapePod, and enjoying a very appropriate story for Good Friday Article of Faith by Mike Resnick. It poses the questions 'what is a soul? Could an artificial intelligence desire/seek God?'.

The story reminded that two centuries or so ago, Black people were not thought to have souls. Even now there are debates about animals having souls and whether gay people can legitimately follow Christ. I believe that God is bigger than anything we can comprehend and it is only his Grace that enables us to approach Him, not any ability/skill or our part & that I am only a wip seeking Him.
